Favourite Things: Skin Care

When it comes to skincare, for me there is really only one place to look: South Korea.

South Korean skincare has completely changed the way I think about caring for my skin. I have tried a number of different Korean products and brands over the years, but recently I discovered Nida, and it has been something of a revelation.

Quite simply, my skin has never felt so smooth.

What I love about Nida is not complicated. It is the way my skin feels when I use it. The products feel beautiful to apply, my routine feels considered rather than excessive, and the results have made me want to keep using them.

And that, ultimately, is my test for anything included in Favourite Things.

There will always be another new product, another much-hyped ingredient and another beauty trend promising extraordinary results. I am far more interested in finding what genuinely works for me, and then allowing myself to stop searching.

For now, Nida has done exactly that.

Having tried other South Korean skincare, it is the range I have enjoyed the most and the one that has impressed me most noticeably. Rather than filling my bathroom with endless alternatives, I would much rather have a skincare routine made up of products I genuinely enjoy using and look forward to returning to each day.

Because skincare, like so many of our everyday rituals, can be about more than the product itself.

It can be a small act of care – simple, consistent and intentional.

And when you find something that works beautifully, sometimes the best thing you can do is simply keep using it.

There is one catch; postage is very slow. It took five weeks to arrive, and I live in Melbourne. This makes budgeting for my monthly Skin Care allowance quite difficult. But, the product quality – in my opinion – makes up for the slow delivery.

I love all things, not only the grand but the infinitely small: thimble, spurs, plates, flower vases.
